DIGITAL CIRCUS

I spearheaded innovative projects that integrated live motion capture technology with interactive digital platforms. A significant highlight was choreographing and recording motion capture performances for virtual concerts on platforms like Roblox.

CHOREOGRAPHY AND RECORDING

Designed and choreographed performances tailored for motion capture, ensuring that the movements translated seamlessly into digital avatars.

Tai Verdes Concert

I choreographed and recorded the motion capture for Tai Verdes for his digital concert in 2021.

Medusa

From the Monster Tales Musical VR 2021.

Processed and refined motion capture data to animate digital characters, bringing them to life in virtual settings.

Motion Capture Performance

Rooms

In collaboration with Codercat Studio, we devised a live performance to fit onto the architectural structure of the self-made walls of Mars College, an art and tech residence in the middle of the California desert. With Leilani choreographing and recording 5 versions of herself to represent her various states of emotions during the hard lockdown Corona, she then in the live show interacted with her 5 digital avatars. The motion capture was retargeted by Digital Circus. The avatars and all other environments were rendered and coded by Codercat Studio.

TORN.

For the Bombay Beach Biennale, we took the project Rooms further, by having Leilani perform live in the motion capture suit, with gestures to initiate and end Body-Looping Sequences. In this piece, she plays with the duality of man and inherent human nature, the push and pull, the chase and flight of two lovers, two friends, two siblings. By controlling her avatars live and in real-time, it added to the esthetic complexity of the choreography between the performer and the digital avatars. This was performed at the Bombay Beach Drive-In with the projection on the abandoned truck for the closing of the festival. The avatars and all other environments were rendered and coded by Codercat Studio

Conducted extensive research into real-time motion capture technologies, exploring their applications in live performances and virtual environments.
